Mercedes GLB, new 7-seat luxurious car, considered as GLC’s successor

Relying on the stretched structure of A-class, under the SUV appearance, GLB is optional between 5 or 7 seats, with 221 horse-power turbo motor.

GLB is located in between GLA and GLC. The 2.839-meter wheelbase allows the small-sized SUV to have 3 seat rows. Despite having 7 seats, GLB is designated by Mercedes as a “small-sized family vehicle.”
After unisex orientation of GLA and GLC, many customers regret of strong and boxy lines of GLK (which is considered as GLC’s predecessor). GLB is the answer to their regret when it reminds of the designs of both GLK and the “oldest brother” in G-class, especially in interior design.

The German brand provides GLB with an advanced driver-assistance systems originated from S-class. Moreover, GLB can automatically drive in some specific cases. Critical technologies such as proactive driver-assistance system, proactive lane shifting assistance and proactive parking assistance with Parktronic are also available on GLB.

The Full Time 4-Wheel Drive system called 4Matic of Mercedes with diversified pulling force distribution rate along with Eco/Comfort, Sport and Off-road driving modes are offered on the SUV model. Those sold in the United States is GLB 250 4Matic edition equipped with 2-liter motor, turbochargers, 4 cylinders, 221-horsepower capacity at 5,500 rounds/minute, twisted torment of 350 Nm at 1,800-4,000 rounds/minute.

The vehicle, whose price remains unpublished, will start to be sold on the market at the end of the year.
