Mercedes-Benz G-Class celebrates 40 years old with ‘Stronger Than Time’ version

The special edition "Stronger Than Time" was released to celebrate the birthday of the 40-year-old Mercedes-Benz G-Class, applied on 3 models of G400d, G500 and G63 AMG.

Launched in 1979, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class has since then been considered a monument to the world of off-road vehicle. To commemorate the 40-year journey of development, the German brand unveiled a variant of the G-Class called "Stronger Than Time", as a way to honor the "timeless" values of the legendary SUV series.

In particular, 2019 is also a milestone marking the journey of two decades since the first high-performance G-Class was born. The "Stronger Than Time" version appears on the three models of G400d, G500 and G63 AMG

Let’s start with two models of G400d and G500. Both own the AMG Line package with a number of exterior tweaks like front/rear sports bumpers, exclusive badges, large wheel arches and 20-inch AMG alloy wheels. The compartment for spare tire, up and down steps and door sills are made of stainless steel.

In addition, the welcome light with the letter G symbol and the message "Stronger Than Time" also help the SUV look more personalized and classy.

Inside, the interior of the car uses black Nappa leather and is accentuated with gold-colored stitches. With Nappa leather, users also have two other color mixes which are beige-blue or beige-red. Similar to the regular version, the car remains equipped with panoramic sunroof, edge lights, Burmester loudspeaker system, multifunctional seats and Driving Assistance Package.

Under the bonnet, the G500 version is equipped with a 4.0-Liter V8 twin-turbocharged  engine that produces 416 horsepowers and 610 Nm of torque. Meanwhile the G400d version uses a 6-cylinder diesel engine with 325 horsepowers and 700 Nm of torque.

Compared to the above two versions, the appearance of the G63 AMG "Stronger Than Time" has changed more markedly with 22-inch alloy wheels, dark chrome-plated grille as well as parts such as steps, Mirror tiles and exhaust pipe edges are coated with matte chrome.

In addition, AMG Trail package also adds some equipment for the vehicle including adaptive damping system, topographic tyre system, underframe tiles, mudguard for rear wheels and rear glass doors filled with special black film type which is capable of preventing harmful effects from the sun.

Inside, the cabin of the car has two tones of black-silver in Nappa leather cover with carbon fiber decoration details. The car is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-Liter V8 engine, which produces 577 horsepowers and 850 Nm of torque.

The engine of the vehicle is connected to a 9-speed automatic transmission and 4-wheel drive system with 3 differential locks. This setting allows the SUV to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds with a maximum speed of 240 km/h. Now Mercedes-Benz has not yet revealed the production plan and selling price for each of these variants.
