Luxurious Mercedes-Benz GLE 2020 version launched, with hybrid engine like GLS

Mercedes-Benz has just expanded its GLE series with the all-new GLE 580 version, using a hybrid V8 engine with more than 500 horsepowers.

Mercedes-Benz has just expanded its new GLE series with GLE 580 version. GLE 580 uses a hybrid drive system with the same V8 engine that the brother GLS 580 has just launched in April.

The German automaker engineers combined 4.0-Liter V8 engines with 48 Volt EQ Boost electric motors and starter generators. This integration reduces the bulkiness of the V8 engine head.

This engine produces 483 horsepowers and 700 Nm of torque. If it is still not strong enough, the driver can activate the EQ Boost feature, producing an additional 21 horsepowers and 245 Nm of torque. However, this feature can only be used for a short period of time.

Power is transmitted to the wheels via Mercedes-Benz's latest 4Matic drive system. Combined with the new E-Active Body Control suspension, GLE 580 promises to be a powerful off-road vehicle.

Inside the cabin, the GLE 580 also features an infotainment system with two 12.3-inch touchscreens, assistance for voice control and augmented reality technology for navigation feature. Augmented reality technology uses the car front camera to guide navigation based on real images.

Another highlight of the GLE 580 is the technology to assist acceleration and braking active Active Stop-and-Go Assist and optionally 3 rows of seats (first present on GLE).

Mercedes-Benz has not released any additional figures on GLE 580 performance. The attached options include the AMG Line exterior package, Airmatic air suspension system incorporated with adaptive damping, leather interior and 22-inch alloy rim set.

If you want to turn the GLE into an off-road vehicle, customers can choose the E-Active Air Suspension Package at 8,100 USD. This system can help the car bounce up and down, easily get rid of the terrain like sand or snow. This "bounce" is sometimes used as an entertainment.

In the US, the Mercedes-Benz GLE 580 is priced at 77,800 USD (including shipping fees) and has been sold since the end of this year.
